The Holy Angels columbarium is located between the existing church and the ParishCenter. Since the early days of the Church, burial of the dead on the parish grounds near the church has been desirable as it is symbolic of the cycle of life within the church. It is a statement of our ultimate goal to live this life in Christ so that one day, through death, we can share in eternal life with God. It is customary to take the remains of the dead immediately to the place of rest after the funeral Mass for interment. Similarly, the location of the columbarium permits procession immediately following the funeral Mass with the cremains to the columbarium for interment. Below you will find information regarding the columbarium here at Holy Angels. Should you have any questions, please contact the parish office. The columbarium will consist of 56 niches that will hold two urns each. Each urn will contain the cremains of one person. You’ll need to be careful in purchasing urns that two of them will fit in the niche. The niche dimensions are: 11.25” wide, 11.125” deep and 10.75” high. Holy Angels Church will stock a few urns that are the correct size so that two of them will fit in the niche, but you’re free to purchase urns wherever you choose. The price of a niche is $1,200 which includes two opening/closing fees, the engraving on the granite face plate with names and dates and perpetual maintenance. If paying the entire fee at the time of purchase is a burden, you may pay on the installment plan with $600 down and $100/month for six months. If you move away from Dyersburg and no longer have a need for your niche, you may sell it back to the church for the purchase price less a $100 fee. When you purchase a niche, you’ll receive a copy of the contract, the by-laws governing the operation of the columbarium, a diagram indicating the location of your niche, a copy of your check and a Burial Permit indicating that you’ve purchased a niche in the Holy Angels Church Columbarium. Niches may be purchased during normal business hours from Wednesday through Friday from myself or Pete Hinkel. If you have any questions, please let me know. Fr. Bob
